St Just square
St Just, Penwith, is a UNESCO world heritage site due to its rich mining history. It is a friendly and eclectic small town which has a selection of shops, pubs and galleries with the larger centre of Penzance a 15 minute drive with an interesting selection of restaurants, galleries, shops, a mainline railway station and ferry services to the Isles of Scilly.

Cape Cornwall
There are many walks from St Just which are stunning. Cape Cornwall is a 10 mins walk from the cottage and has a golf course and rocky beach as well as the coast path running past it. The stunningly beautiful sandy beaches at Sennen Cove & Mounts Bay are within 20 minutes. The gardens at Trengwainton & Trewidden are 7.5 miles with St Michael’s Mount and Marazion within 25 minutes. The coast road to St Ives takes less than 30 mins to drive, stop off at Botallack, Pendeen lighthouse, Geevor and Lelant mines, and walk around Gurnards Head to Zennor before enjoying the beautiful light at your destination, with so many shops and galleries, not forgetting the Tate St Ives.

Sennen
Well located for visiting Penzance, Lands End, Sennen Cove, quaint fishing harbours of Mousehole and Newlyn. Daily trips from Penzance to the beautiful Isles of Scilly by helicopter or passenger ferry or Sky Bus from Lands End airport. This is an excellent base for walking the Cornish Coastal Path which offers spectacular scenery and views in an area renowned for its birds and wildlife. The quiet cove of Porth Nanven is a short walk from the property. Large sandy surfing beaches of Sennen, Whitesand Bay and Gwynver are only a 5 mile drive. The Magical Minack Theatre is close by (open air theatre built in to the cliff face).
Getting around
If you turn right at Cape Cornwall along the South West Coast Path it takes you along the rugged paths of the Granite Coast past Kenidjack Castle, the Crown Mines to the remote, gleaming lighthouse at Pendeen Watch then onto Gurnards Head and Zennor to St Ives. Left from the Cape , where the Atlantic currents split, takes in part of Cornwall’s oldest mining district. The path is a mixture of easy open walking along the high cliff tops and short, rough ascents and descents, to the sweep of golden sand at Sennen Cove and then to Lands End.
Buses regularly run through St Just from Penzance to St Ives. This is a great way to enjoy the rugged scenery of Cornwall’s spectacular Atlantic coast and the Land’s End peninsula. Take an open topped bus to discover panoramic views over land and out to sea that will take your breath away.
Hop on and off where you like to discover pretty villages, craggy headlands and secret coves. There are bus stops along them, but buses will try to stop wherever it’s safe – just raise your arm in good time so the driver sees you.
There are great walks to enjoy and by taking the bus you don’t have to retrace your steps – just hop on another bus further along.
Routes A1, A2, A3 and A4 are run with open top buses and the A5 and A17 are run with closed top buses.
