Saffron Cottage

Saffron Cottage is a charming pair of former miners’ cottages, thoughtfully renovated to create a warm and welcoming three-bedroom holiday home full of character.

It’s perfect for anyone looking to explore this beautiful and enchanting corner of Cornwall.

Just a couple of minutes’ walk from the centre of St Just, and around 15 minutes from Cape Cornwall and the South West Coast Path, it’s ideally located for both convenience and coastal adventures.

As you enter through the front door, you’re welcomed into a hallway with stairs leading up.
To the right, there’s a cosy sitting room with a comfy sofa bed and armchairs arranged around a fireplace with a multi-fuel burner – ideal for relaxing evenings. A window looks out over the shared back garden. The room also includes a smart TV with internet access, books, games, and Wi-Fi throughout the house.

Opposite the sitting room, a door leads into the kitchen/diner, which has a lovely slate floor and is fully equipped with everything you’ll need – including a cooker, microwave, dishwasher, and washing machine. The dining table seats six comfortably.

A door from the kitchen leads to the back porch and garden. The garden is shared with neighbouring homes – a common and well-loved feature in St Just. The neighbours are friendly, and everyone enjoys the space respectfully.

A steep carpeted staircase leads to the first floor (mind your head half way up!) where the staircase splits with a further step either side off which are two comfortably furnished carpeted double bedrooms, and a smaller bedroom with bunk beds (adult sized single beds) and a family bathroom, W.C, shower over the bath, basin and heated towel rail.

Good quality linen and towels are provided, please bring your own beach towels if required.

On arrival, in the winter months, guests will be supplied with a small quantity of firelighters, kindling and coal, more can be easily purchased from the co-op or Clemo’s in the centre of town.
Parking is freely available on the road outside the cottage, you can usually park very close to the front door. Additional parking is available in the free car park in the centre of St Just, only 2 minutes walk away. For those without a car, there is a regular bus service from Penzance, through St Just to St Ives.

Other things to note

This is an old cottage so the floors are a little uneven. There is a low beam that you will meet half way down the stairs so please duck or grouse!

The kitchen floor is Cornish slate and dust can come off onto socks and bare feet.
Please note the loo pipes are old and twisty so blocks up easily so stick to the 3Ps rule (pee poo and paper) many thanks!

Sometimes we will accept one or two well behaved small dogs. If you would like to bring your pet please contact us before booking.
